Synod 2021 - 2023
The Synodal Journey is one that Catholics ‘walk together’ towards a Church, in today’s world, that has a vision of missionary communion orientated to evangelisation. A two-year ‘synodal’ process culminating in the final Synod gathering of Bishops in Rome in October 2023.
The overall theme is “For a Synodal Church: Communion, Participation, Mission”
Pope Francis: “If we want to speak of a synodal Church… we need content, means, and structures that can facilitate dialogue and interaction within the People of God, especially between priests and laity.”
We stand before You, Holy Spirit, as we gather together in Your name.
With You alone to guide us, make Yourself at home in our hearts;
Teach us the way we must go and how we are to pursue it.
